SCENE 2

Setting:

Pooh's House, Enter Piglet.

Piglet: Hello, Pooh.

Winnie-the-Pooh:   Hello, Piglet. I've just seen Eeyore and he is in a very sad condition. It's his birthday, and nobody has taken any notice of it. I'm giving him a pot of honey as a present. (Produces a pot.) And what are you going to give?

Piglet: Couldn't I give it too? From both of us?

Winnie-the-Pooh:   No. That would not be a good plan.

Piglet: All right, then, I'll give him a balloon. I've got one. I'll go and get it now, shall I?

Winnie-the-Pooh:   That's a very good idea. Nobody can be unhappy with a balloon. ( Piglet leaves ) Winnie-the-Pooh (loking at the clock): Time for a little something. (Takes a big spoon and begins to eat honey.) Now let me see, where was I going? (Remembering,) Ah, yes, Eeyore. Oh, bother! (Looks at the empty pot.) What shall I do9 Well, it's a very nice pot... And if I washed it clean Eeyore could keep things in it. (Leaves with the pot.)

Story-teller: Winnie-the-Pooh is going to clean the pot. And Piglet runs for the balloon. He always wants to be the first. Now, he is the first. But what's the price?
