The International Riding Competition (CHI) and the Six Day Race are held in the Velodrom, the new indoor cycling stadium which, like the Max-Schmeling-Halle, has been built since 1990. |

The football club Hertha BSC attracts an average of over 50,000
people to the Olympic Stadium for home games. The comprehensive
renovation and modernisation work on this stadium, which was built
in 1936 for the Olympic Summer Games, will be completed in plenty
of time for the World Cup in 2006. The basketball players of Alba
have an international reputation, and the same applies to the
EHC Eisbären ice hockey team. And there are athletes, gymnasts,
swimmers, water polo players, rowers, canoe and sailing competitors,
cyclists and skaters who are nationally successful.
